Hey y'all

I'd connected my Canon pixma ip1000 printer and Windows 7(32-bit) automatically installed it and its drivers.
I went to "Devices and Printers", selected printer properties and clicked "Print Test Page", but an error was rendered:"Test page failed to print.Operation could not be completed(error 0x000007a)."; then, I ran the printer troubleshooter. No problems were found!
Also, I tried printing a document, yet it didn't work, and no errors were rendered.

P.S.: I deleted the device, switched it into another port, and reinstalled it.Still nothing...

How can I fix this?

Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit
Disconnect the printer, uninstall old drivers

I looked in "Programs and Features", but the printer's driver wasn't there.
Anyhow, I've turned the printer off and installed this "add-on" and it still isn't working.

i also have similar problem, but mine the cd installer cannot use at all because of the 'bit' issue.. my OS is win 7 (64-bit). yes, I start typing and searching online for drivers pixma ip1000 for windows 7. for my surprise, there's are bundle of result..but then sadly, nothing work...everything is 'add-on' software.

I try and try...as for result,1stly,uninstall everything previous pixma program that I have installed.
I dload sofware ip100 driver ver 1.9 from canon, that actually for windows XP(not windows 7). Yes, during istallation it cannot detect my printer as a 'printer'. during installation, I just select manually the port that where my printer connected..as long as i could install the printer driver.

then I add-on this driver with My printer ver 2.5.0 at Canon. restart the PC and use the program My Printer to detect my printer as a'printer'. Make sure your printer is connected, and ON. yayy..it's work!

maybe the link i gave above is from 'asia region', because of my geography location is there. you may try this steps. I know you use win 7 32-bit, but maybe you can try by using driver that download online.. (make sure from canon -for safety purpose). as for my case, cd doesnt help.
oh,ya..during download these drivers from canon, save it first to your pc,do not select 'run' button.only after that, install it.

i hope this may give you some idea.

Rich,
Don't forget to try another USB port as he is rebooting.
THEY HAVE TO GO TO CANON.COM FOR DRIVER UPDATES.

I have a Canon MP830 all in one and went to their website for updated driver.

And as Rich pointed out UNPLUG the USB cable until after drivers are installed and/or you are prompted to plug the device/usb cable in.
