Solved Canon network printing driver problem

To be clearer, you don't need the specific Vista drivers, you need this driver package from the website for any system that is Vista or Win 7 (or XP for that matter).

I think FliGi7 is missing the point.

1. For those in Europe, searching the Canon website will NOT give you any Win 7 drivers (go look).
2. Canon automatically takes you to the website relevant for your IP address, ie European IP addresses searching for Canon support will get the European website, Same for everyone in Europe.
3. As I've said repeatedly, the drivers embedded within Win 7/64 don't work, are obviously not the same as the drivers compatible for Vispa/64 (tested and proved).
3. The solution I gave using Vispa/64 drivers solves the problem for all (tested and proved), whereas the point you make may cause an issue for those on this side of the pond.

So my point is, and I am trying to assist those everywhere, (please create a new a new post if you wish to make this issue relevant for specifically the americas), who come up against this issue, one does need different drivers, those listed under Vista/64.

Can we please leave it here, as I don't think this debate is helpling anyone.

1. I totally understand your point about US vs EU site. You can just as easily get to the Canon USA site, though.
2. This is the beauty of Google. You have the freedom to search for and navigate to any site you want, regardless of where you're located. Simply click the #2 result instead of #1.
3. I think you are the one getting confused here about what is being stated. I've never stated the embedded Win 7 x64 drivers work, actually. I'm not sure where you're getting that from. My only point that I've shown is that the drivers from the USA canon site for both Vista x64 and Win 7 x64 are the same, exact file. So regardless of whether you choose your OS to be Vista x64 or Win 7 x64, you get the same file to download, which is the one that has proven successful in this scenario. You keep talking about Vista x64 specific drivers, but those don't exist on the US site - it's all the same package.
4. I haven't provided any solution that would give anyone issues, regardless of where they are located. I don't really understand what that even means.

Again, your point that people with Win 7 x64 need the Vista x64 specific drivers is actually wrong for those in the US as we have a signle driver package on the US canon site that addresses all 3 XP, Vista, and Win 7 systems. The way you are putting it, people will think that a Vista-specific driver package exists on the US-site, which it does not.

Do you see what I'm saying now?

The absolute bottom line of this solution, I will say again, is to go to the US site and get the single, all-inclusive driver package for all 3 operating systems.
