I am unable to print from my Canon ip4500 using 64 bit drivers. I had this printer installed on my 32 bit XP machine and when I bought a new Windows 7 64 bit computer the printer will only print the windows graphic on the test page. It works fine and prints the text on the 32 bit XP machine. I have downloaded the 64 bit driver and it still only prints the graphic on the test page or any page, no text. I have contacted Canon and they want me to clean the nozzles, but I know this is not the problem since it will print on my XP machine. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the Seven Forums, rsotto48.

I am using a Canon Printer i550 too. There has been no problem.

I suggest that you carry out the task of cleaning the cartridge nozzles as Canon has suggested. Then print and if the problem continues, write back to them giving this information.

Please get from them the information about the latest 64-bit driver for your printer and download and install it, if it is not the same as the one that you have downloaded. In the meantime please uninstall the driver, clean the Registry with Ccleaner as suggested by a Guru in another thread and then re-install it and try printing again.
