Solved Can't Access Admin Account to make changes

Hi, hope someone can help me with this.

I switched on the Guest account and changed the account type to admin, then turned my only other account from admin to standard, then turned off guest account, i done this as i was told it is best to only use a standard account on a day to day basis, anyway i now cannot access the "manage another account" page, i get a popup with "To continue, type in an administrator password and then click yes" point is there is no password setup in either the guest account or the standard one, cannot do anything without that popup happening. I cannot access the guest account because it is switched off.

any advise is most welcome.

hi, thanks. strangely there are no passwords set, but it is asking for one, the only account active is a "standard" account with no privileges so cannot access user account setting without the popup mentioned before. Have had a look at the suggested links and the problem is i can login but not change anything.

no-worries, seems to be a flaw in the 7 OS to be able to set something you cannot get out of.

Question about Built-in Admin process

Print out the instructions or write them down then place your Windows 7 install DVD or flash drive in and restart (that's booting).
Press the one time boot menu key (usually F12 but can be 9, 10, 11, etc) and select the DVD or flash drive then press Enter.

Follow the directions in the tutorial.
