hi there.

i have a somewhat anoying problem/

i have 2 pc's both with windows 7 1 is 32 and the other is 63 bits..
now i dont know how i did it but when i installed them i made it work so that pc 1 could acces a share on the 2nd pc..
now yesterday 1st pc got a bsod.
after i rebooted the share was gone and i could not acces the 2nd pc anymore.
i been bussy one day to get it working again btu without luck.
i just cant acces the 2nd pc anymore while when i ping it it has no problems , so it is seen on the network..
i tried goin to homegroups but that just doesnt work , it says cant create a home group on this pc , after i type the pw.. i deleted home group and made the home group on the other pc and when i type pw on other pc it also says cant create homegroup on this pc .. so wherever i make a home group i cant acces it from the other pc ..
my media center can conect to wherever the homegroup is made so that gives no problem for now .. its only these 2 pcs that cant connect to eachother .. its both windows 7 unlimited . the only difference is that 1 is 32 bit and other is 64 bits..
i realy tried everythig but nothing worked for me so far..

what am i forgetting ??? i even synced the time so far had to do manualy cause when i synced them both to internet clock (same timeserver) there was a 3 sec difference (strange but its synced now as far i can see.) so who can help me with this ..

greetings ..

Kinda weird Try leaving homegroup on both computers - Turn off Password Protected Sharing on both PCs(Change Advance Sharing Settings in Network and sharing center) and see if you can access the other pc

pasword sharing already is off :)
realy getting desperate here its just so friggin unbelievable that it need so much looking and searching just to get a share working :)
and the worst thing is that is worked fine till i got a bsod . after restart sharing was gone.

PS. made a homegroup on the mediacenter also and the 1st pc can connect to that one without problems .. but the second pc also cant connect to the mediacenter homegroup.
and even though the 2nd pc is not in the homegroup i can access shares from the media centre ..

So you tried checking the other links from the Homegroup fix it link I posted earlier like this one. Why can't I join a homegroup?

At the bottom of that link it explains what to do if you can't join or leave a Homegroup. You will want to leave the Homegroup on all machines after deleting the idstore.sst file then create a new Homegroup and join from the other machines.

The peer networking idstore.sst file is corrupted. If you see the message "Windows cannot set up a Homegroup on this computer.

To fix the corrupted file: Delete the idstore.sset file found in the \Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Roaming\PeerNetworking folder of your system drive (for example, drive C).

It's possible that some files were lost or corrupted after the BSOD.

Have you tried running the sfc/scannow command from the command prompt?

It will fix corrupted or missing files though you may need to restart and run the command three times before it fixes everything.

Previously creating a system image using Windows file recovery comes in handy for times like this.

Have you tried using system restore to go back to a point in time before the problem started?

think i give up dont have a repair disk here .. but its just stupid .
with the pc i had a crash i can simply login to any home group (except the pc with the share . but the other pc that didnt crash can not login to any home group this is realy strange ..
seems like the message " cant create a homegroup on this pc " is not a problem from the pc . cause the first pc can join when the group is created by another pc then the one i want to share from. so the problem is on the to share from pc but nothing changed there . from that pc i can acces shares on the first pc no problems .
