Can't boot T-61 SSD: "No valid OS"

Not having much luck.

Various messages:

The file on Dirctory c: is corrupt and unreadable. Run chkdsk.

Have done Repair several times.

Startup Repair shows these messages:

Problem Sig. 1 6.1.7600.16385
Problem Sig. 2 same as above
Sig No. 3 unknown
Sig No. 4 -1
Sig No. 5 ExternalMedia
Sig No. 6 3
Sig No. 7 CorruptVolume
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Local ID: 1033

Only other info I can supply is when the SSD was on the desktop, the volume was designated as "I"

All is okay until:
Boot manager generic failure 0xc00000f

Further down it says "REgistry is corrupt.

Number of root causes = 1

System volume is corrupt

The above errors are cherry picked from 3 startup repairs.

I tried formatting the ssd and installing Windows 7 again.
