A few days ago, I went to shut down my laptop and Windows installed 2 updates when I shut down. When I went to get back on, Windows was taking forever on the starting Windows screen, and then it went to the blue screen (like the log in screen) but it wasnt to log in. It said Windows was configuring the updates, but it kept failing. It finally let me log on, and when I did everything was messed up. Microsoft Security Essentials said something about running counterfeit software, and I wasn't. So I formatted the partition and reinstalled Windows. Everything worked like it was supposed to, but when I went to get back on the next day it wouldnt boot up. I have reinstalled several times, but when I go to boot it back up, it doesn't work. Startup Repair doesn't work, and I've used the Command Prompt to try and fix it. It did fix it once, but when I shut down for the night, it wouldn't start up in the morning. I did FixMbr and I did Fixboot. I don't know anything about computers, so help please? Oh, and I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.

The blue screen that came up when it said it couldn't configure the updates wasn't a BSOD. It was just the normal screen that comes up when it configures updates.

Well, it is just sitting on the loading Windows files page and it stopped at /windows/system32/DRIVERS/CLASSPNP.SYS and it just says "please wait.." It has been sitting like that for a few minutes.

If you mean everything as in my files, I don't have any. I reinstalled Windows just a few hours ago, but I shut down and now it won't start up.

Now look down at the bottom of the display.

I had only gotten that message once when my computer messed up. Any other time it has activated normally and no message has come up.

Next time WIn7 won't start up after updates, boot the DVD Repair console and run Startup Repair repeatedly with reboots. System Restore (to before the Updates) is automated in Startup Repair but if it doesn't start, try it manually.

You probably triggered the non-geniune by running random boot repair commands which are all automated now in Startup Repair anyway.

Or MSE flagged a cracktivation on the install as it will. Where did you get Win7?
