I recently sent my computer to get fixed and he had to wipe my system clean and basically start over. I chose to get Windows 7 and he installed it but now I'm trying to hook my printer up to it and it says that my operating system is still Vista. Well I went in and tried to change it to windows 7 and the drop down box doesnt even have it listed. I even tried to change the product key and that didnt work. So my question is how do I change it from vista to windows 7?
Are you actually running windows 7 and the printer doesn't recognize the operating system or are you running vista but have windows 7 installed on your computer?
OK Im confused. So right now when you turn on your computer it loads Vista?
If you don't know go to: Control panel (you will find it in the Start Menu) > System and Security > System. There the computer should tell you what operating system you are using.
My computer is running Vista. I want to change it. They installed windows 7 but it is not showing up that it is my operating system. How do I change my current op which is vista to windows 7?
It only lists vista? If thats so thats bad, either the person who fixed your computer didn't install windows 7 properly or the computer has trouble recognizing windows 7. If win 7 is actually installed i should show up on your hard drive. So click on the start menu and then click on my computer. Under my computer can you tell me how many hardrives you have and what they are named?
ok it doesnt say my computer but under the computer option it says hard disk local C then under devices with removable storage it says DVD RW Driver, SD/MMC and then memory stick.
I have the CD and the case of windows 7 ...you think i should uninstall it and install it again? Because it has Windows 7 in my programs file.
