I have tried two different routers, a lnksys and now i got my hands on a old 3com one since the linksys one wouldn't work. But alas, this one doesn't work either it seems and im starting to wonder if its my connection and not the routers. Both are old, i do not have CD's or anything for them, reseting the router does not work, and the Linksys router does work. By does not work, if i try to connect while it is plugged in it stays at "Connecting to WAN miniport (PPOE)" and then a box comes up that says the device has encountered a problem. I recieve my internet from radio towers, and i was wondering if there is something special i could do to fix this problem pertaining to that. Thanks

I also cannot get into the router's menu with the IP address on either the linksys or 3com

For the Linksys, type 192.168.0.1. into the Internet Explorer search field and hit Enter. That should bring up the settings. The user name is usually admin (unless it was changed) and the password is password

Hi LiNkZoR,

Who is your ISP?

What type of broadband connection do you have - DSL or Cable?

I have a place called Agave Broad band, this isn't there site but it explains how i get the internet better. Higher-Speed Internet - Services I'm not really sure what it's categorized as. They told me they have dishes in ABQ that beam the internet to radio towers and those towers transmit them to the surrounding areas.

I found this from your ISP's site under FAQ's. When you first subscribed with your ISP, did they initially setup the router? Is this your own router or theirs?
I have more than one computer I would like on line, can you help with this?
If more than one computer is desired to be on the internet at the same time, we can provide a router acting as a gateway to make this happen, or it may be provided by the client on the day of the installation.
They are not giving any installation procedure in their site, I guess they want you to pay them. :D
I'm not familiar at all with your ISP and the type of configuration that they use, it might be worth it contacting them.

I got this back in an email
Nope just choose PPPOE
IN the menu. Put in your
Username and Password we gave you. Also we use a
Dynamic IP address not static. We do not use a modem. We use a power of eithernet unit. Most folks have to call their router manufacture.
Does this help any?

I think this is basically what i got on the outside of the building http://www.motorola.com/Business/US...ess+LAN/Access+Points+and+Ports/AP_5181_US-EN and then i got http://www.motorola.com/Business/US...net/802_3a_f+Single+Port+Power+Injector_US-EN inside my house and that connects to the computer

Thanks for the latest information provided, if you were to use a regular Modem, the ethernet cable needs to be plugged in to the Router's WAN or Internet Port. In your case you do not use a Modem, do you have the ethernet cable plugged in to the Internet Port of the router or to the LAN/Ethernet Port? Have you tried both methods? It won't hurt...then try the suggestion that was emailed to you by your Provider.
