Can't connect internet even with wifi on in my desktop

Hello there,
I could not find the exact answer to solve my problem.
My desktop Windows 7 home premium can't connect internet even with the WIFI is on. Please help. Have been trying for last 5 days.
I tried to install Malwarebytes, it deleted 347 files but could not update due no connection. Tried to work from Safe Mode but no luck either.

I'm assuming you mean Safe Mode with Networking. My best guess is a software blockage, some program has closed your internet access, or, drivers for the devices that connect to the internet are "disconnected." You might consider removing the ethernet card and the wifi card [if such is in the desktop] from devices within Device Manager and force Windows 7 to rediscover the drivers -- hopefully such are on the hard-drive, just needing to be reIntroduced, reinstalled, reregistered. If you can, from another computer, download Tweaking.com's Windows Repair (All in One), install on problem computer, it just might be able to shake loose the obstruction. Accept defaults, add item #26 & 27, run WR in Safe Mode with Networking.

First try Safe Mode with Networking. If it works there, don't bother with Linux.
If it doesn't work, try booting with Linux Mint MATE DVD/USB and see if you have a connection there.

I got back my internet with the help of your tips using tweaking.com.
Thank you so much. There still need to be done a lot to bring under my control but at least I have the internet.
Somehow, when I open the browser, it automatically changes the default to sometimes crossbrowse or some other browser which I never heard of.
May be you can give me how to get read of this.

I also would like to say thank you to GoKAy for your help but saw just now.

Thank you guys. Roland, please tell me how to fix the auto defaulting browser to remove.

Glad it is fixed, I usually go to Repair AIO after exhausting other options

Can you post a screenshot of your problem?

Download and scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware free (start the free premium trial, checked by default).

I did that with Malwarebytes already and somehow it is good now. So unfortunately, I do not have the screen shot for now. If I do get later (hopefully I won't have at all) will post.

Some forums often recommend using adwcleaner. However, use slowly, cautiously, un-check what is not known to you to be a problem. Adwcleaner it is a fire-fighter, it will often put out malware fires, however, there often is residual "water-damage" in that sometimes things you wanted to keep and were working correctly also have been "put out," thus have to be reinstalled such as certain scripts or add-ons or other doo-dads and doo-moms.

Also, you can try Toolbar Cleaner. Toolbar Cleaner by Visicom Media Inc. Download from Major Geeks or any very well-known and well-respected place. Again, here too, you want to checkmark only the boxes you are absolutely certain is an unwanted toolbar or some doo-hickie. Mass clicking could result in -- awwww, shucks. Time to reload some scripts and add-ons again.
