Make your Recovery Disks first in case you'd ever want to sell your computer with the native OS installed. Then you can overwrite the Vista Recovery and any other partitions which won't run anyway after a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164Clean Install Windows 7

The error you're getting calling for CD/DVD drivers is almost always a bad installer. Where are you getting Win7? Download another copy and write to flash stick using Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool.
