I'm using Windows 7 7600, and I am a programmer. My problem is that Windows 7 doesnt allow me to create the Directory using any Application I program. Is there an alternate to it, say removing a registry key?

Thanks,
Nisheeth

P.S. Half of my Apps have stopped working this way.

I bet if you turn off UAC you can gitrdone!

Just type user account control in the Start Menus "Search programs and files" bar, then move the slider all the way to the bottom.

Just remember to move it back when you are done.

This is easy and worth a try, and yes you should reset when you are done.

Try right clicking your program and "run as admin".
This should give your program required permissions...

there are 2 ways to do this:
  1. Turn off UAC
  2. Right click your file, go to compatibility tab and tick "Run this programm as Administrator"

I would advise second option, in this case it will always run as admin by default.
So you will not have to right click and "run as admin" it everytime.

Try it and report back. ;)

ain't working, it creates a Dir in Sys32 and its not.
Disabling UAC works, but is harmful....

I was hoping a simple registry solution but you guys have been a great help. Honors.

hmm.. strange :sarc:
Try right clicking your program and "run as admin".
This should give your program required permissions...

Did this one worked first time?
just right clicking and "run as admin"?
