Can't delete echo123

Dear Friends,
I am currently experimenting with Thunderbird Portable. I previously stated I was unable to close my Skype account.
My main browser is Firefox, it has a 'Sync' feature but I don't use it. FF portable also incorporates the sync feature.
Thunderbird Portable does not have the 'Sync' feature. Does it get included with the installed version?.

At present, I have TB portable on 'D' drive on both my computers, with a shortcut to each desktop.
I am going to put a copy of TB Portable in my 'Onedrive' to see what happens.

I could not tell you Rodey because the installed versions I have have not brought across many contacts from WLM. Most of the addresses are ones that I have replied to in actually fact.

I found this in TB help if it is of any use https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1110316 < quiet a handy resource but I am guessing you have been there already.

I am going to have another look for syncing the WLM contacts over as I think Contacts in WLM are listed as Addresses.

Edit Now there is a strange thing I was just playing with deleting and/or copying contacts to TB when I came across echo123 in my WLM contacts and deleting was simple

Yea I unlinked my account with skype and echo123 did go away
Today it's back and I can't login to skype to unlink it again so yea it figures :roflmao:

Here we go again.
Every time I try to close my Skype account (at different times of day) I get as in my image.



Now for some info re Thunderbird Portable.
I put it in my 'Onedrive' folder, played with various settings using my Laptop. I left things as they were for about 30 minutes and the icon in my taskbar showed it was fully updated. I then went to my Desktop PC which was running during this, checked for the items added or changed, it didn't work.

I then put it into my WDTV Live HDD, (it can play almost any file type on my television.) I thought I would be able to access it on any of my computers using the 'Network' Connection. It didn't work either as I could not get it to appear.

Soooooo I either use TB from my thumb drive / usb which means it will be down stairs when I'm on my pc up stairs or vice versus. OR continue using WL Mail.

P.S. I use the same Gmail address, 1 for my mail the other for my M$ live ID to sign in to WL Mail where echo123 is in contacts list but not in Gmail's contacts list. My 2 same Gmail addresses have different passwords.

It is included in the installed version, but it needs interaction [setup] from you in order for it to work. Here are various ways including IMAP, take your pick: Thunderbird email sync | google search

That's what I'd do as skype may be going through some rough times, this one page [Heartbeat] showed problems as early as this past April, and it said the problems were resolved, but I've caught recent glimpses of problems online with skype's service: Skype Down or not working | DownDetector.com.uk

I don't know what to make of this; From what I understand you can't have one address with different passwords, but I believe its happening because you're using the account for two entirely separate email programs, i.e. gmail | M$live.

See if bkc56's answer here and the second and third links at the bottom of his post applies to your situation: "Multiple PASSWORDS" 4 same accounts?? Ignore the "4" in the title, I believe it is "phonespeak" and is an abbreviation for the word for.

Yes well for what it is worth I think Skype and that echo thing are linked to WLM by default see my pic because I cannot get rid of echo in my WLM.

Yes Mike I remember looking into it years ago when my brother was pestering me to join up so we could chat etc etc but I think that is as far as I got because a) I didn't have a PC camera and b) it was looking to be quite intrusive which by all accounts it looks to be becoming. It wasn't very long after that he started having problems hooking up (he lives in the UK) to some of his contacts over there and I he hasn't mentioned since.

I am wondering if Google has something to do with it as my machines are becoming way ahead of me in some respects - just knowing where and what I want to go and do. That is not so bad but it does make one wonder how much they know about my habits, likes and preferences??

Firefox Hello does look good Callender, but I noticed IE isn't supported [duh]; If, and that's a big, if the wife would want to start video chat I'd probably go with google chat, we use gmail and it has a built in Video Chat over Google Talk.

I don't like googles intrusiveness either, but it's something we've learned to live with.

Part 2, I only liked WL Mail for it's ability to synchronize my 'Event Reminders' between my 2 computers, plus it's user friendliness.
I now get my reminders from Google by email using these settings:-

Your link for fonts has been installed, looks ok so far but I need to play with it some more.

Your link for Gmail not compatible. But I have Gmail contacts installed in TB but they are in a separate folder, I want them in my Personal Address Book.

Hi Anak, the last thing I need on my pc x 2 is more addons as my system is slow enough already.



I managed to get 'Read' emails to look the same as new ones but I fixed it.
I had contemplated adding my contacts to the 'Personal Address Book' folder 1 at a time but it would take too long.
So they can stay in the 'contacts' folder for now.
