can't delete file

For some reason I'm unable to delete a video file off my desktop. When I move it to the trash I get a dialog box saying "The action can't be completed because the file is open by Windows Explorer. Close file and try again."

This even happens after rebooting and right after login I drag the file to the trash. How can I delete this video file?

Welcome

Go to search type msconfig. Go to startup tab and make sure that it is not checked to be included in startup.

Try This (Works with 99.9% of People with the Same Probem)

Hit CTRL+ALT+DELETE and Select TaskManager
Select Processes Tab
Look up for explorer.exe and right click on it and select End Process. Now your Desktop Icons and Task bar will be Turned Off.
Now in Task Manager, click on File -> New Task (Run...) -> Click Browse -> Select Desktop on the left -> Now you will be browsed through your desktop with all the files and folders in it -> Single click on your file and hit DELETE (For Temporary Deletion) and SHIFT+DELETE (For Permanent Deletion)

Unlocker should do the trick, but I also have Lock Hunter installed. Right clicking a file will show a context menu choice of What is locking this file? Very helpful for identifying what is locking files, and also allows you to unlock and delete like Unlocker does. A Guy
