Can't delete/format partition

Hey guys ,
A month ago I installed Windows 8 as my second os using dual boot configuration . As you can see at the attachment below , I'm trying to Delete/Format the Windows 8 partition but it seems not to work . Is there any other way to delete/format the Windows 8 Partition ?

That`s because it has the system files on it.

1) Do you have a windows 7 install disc ?

2) If not, make a system repair disc (cd) from windows 7, you will need it.

start>control panel>backup and restore>create system repair disc

you need 1 blank cd

AddRAM is right you can't delete it on disk management to prevent deletion of system files . You need a software like this Partition Wizard - HE

Your jumping the gun, my next suggestion was to make a partition wizard boot cd to delete the partition.

It can be done with the PW software installed on 7, but I never do it that way.

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

You will then have to use the system repair disc to run startup repair to get windows booting again.

Why not just reinstall Windows 8 ? I know, you HATE IT

Why not go into a cmd prompt and type format D: press enter

Then resize or merge the partition back into your c drive using disk management.

You DOS guys are the best, I was never good at it. Too many commands.

I guess why that`s why they say DOS is king.

Yes DOS can be very handy for things that need doing.

The solution is to Mark System Reserved Partition Active then run Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times until Win7 starts on its own and System Reserved correctly holds the System Active flags.

You can then delete Windows 8. Partition or Volume - Delete
Partition or Volume - Extend
