cant delete program file x86

i installed windows vista first before windows 7. and i notice that the program files from vista was left named program files x86. but when i tried to delete it. it says needs permission from trusted installer. help pls. because its consuming 290mb of disk space..

Hello,

The Program Files (x86) folder is not left there by Vista. It is a necessary folder to Windows 7 64-bit. Do not try to delete it.

That is the folder where the 32-bit programs are placed. The 64-bit programs are installed into Program Files.

what!!? but i installed a 32 bit operating system.. how could that happen?..

You upgraded, right? (Not clean install).
