I recently replaced my motherboard, it is a Gigabyte B250-HD3-CF. I have a Intel G4400 @3.3GH. I have Intel 200 series Chipset. I have 2 ddr4 installed of 4GB each. Also installed is the Standard VGA Graphic Adaptor. My graphic card is a MSI Radeon HD6450. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
The problem is my secondary monitor displays the same images as the primary monitor. When I go into Screen Resolution it only shows my main monitor in the dropdown box. I tried going to device manager & update the VGA driver it shows it is uptodate. I updated my bios, graphics card & Windows 7 updates. I have both monitors hooked up to the two VGA ports. I am at wits end now how to get the second monitor to run seperately from the primary monitor. Any help would be much apprieciated. Thanks

Right-click on an empty area of the screen, and choose Display Properties. In there, you should find an "Identify" option. Choose it, so that you can see which number that Windows has assigned to each monitor. For purposes of this discussion, we will say that monitor #1 is the one to the left, and monitor #2 is the one to the right.

Now click on monitor #1. Make sure that it is set to be the main or primary monitor.

Now click on monitor #2. Tell it to extend the display to this monitor.

Now click Apply to save the changes.

If the above doesn't do it, then there will be an Intel program which will do it for you; in other words, the Intel program is overriding the Windows program. In this case, right click on an empty area of the screen and choose "Intel Graphics setup" or "Intel Display setup" or something like that. Then follow the above steps, adjusting the steps as needed.

Thats where my problem is, the secondary screen does not show in that area, it only detects the primary monitor. It like Windows does not detect the the vga port, only the dvi port shows in that area. It does not show the secondary monitor in the screen resolution box. It almost like it cannot get the right driver to show the secondary monitor. I will try the Intel graphics setup again & see if it will detect it. Thanks

I ended up going back to my old graphics card (Asus) which it installed all the Nvidea drivers. I was able to detect the secondary screen. I wish I was able to use the MSI graphics card, but it didn't get the right driver to detect the secondary screen. I would like to thank everyone for their help. Thankyou
