New win7 install then setup wmc.
did the following sequence
install ceton drivers
startup wmc custom
task/settings/setup tv signal
after selecting zip code
message: "downloadable TV program Guide listing unavailable"
no option to update guide as well
I have 2 other win7 working fine.
BUT
tried on another computer and it did download but normal options of 3 cable service providers went to almost 4 time more of different option for SD or HD and local or universal.
This is very new in setup.
But on this computer it never got that far.
Help!
Thanks,
Ray

I was faced with the same problem yesterday. It seems that Microsoft has changed providers for their program guide information. My problem was solved by applying patch #KB3078428, which was found in the optional updates section of Windows Update. After that, I did the setup TV options in WMC and everything ran fine.

Hope that helps.

This is my recording studio PC. I also have a gaming rig, a HTPC, an old dual-core system I set up as a server, and a few old dinosaurs (the oldest is an Intel P-90) that I use for DOS and Win95 gaming when I feel nostalgic.
Was not able to find local or on the internet patch KB3078428.
Seems everyone has same problem.
