Cant download

I know this issue has come up time and time again, and here it is once more. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and cant download a damn thing onto my comp using any browser. I've tried reinstalling Windows, as well as Firefox, numerous times. Windows is active and running, but I still cant download. Any suggestions?

What error are you experiencing??

Scan your computer for any possible virus..
Make sure javascript is enabled in the browsers....

Wont let me use AVG.

As for the error: When I download the file doesn't save to my comp, and in the 'Downloads' screen of Firefox, when I right click it 'Open' is grayed out, so I cant click it.

I think that your system is infected by some kind of virus.

Try to open msconfig and disable any suspicious startup programs...

Also try to boot windows in safe mode with networking and see if you can download anything..

I have admin rights, being that it's the only account on the comp. And I cant download and add ons, because I cant download anything at all.

things to try

a couple things to try first make a direct connection to your ISP modem the other thing to try is create a new user account and see if you can download form that account if so delete old account also try right click on IE shortcut and choose run as admin
