Solved Can't establish a new folder within Windows Explorer.

I just dl'd Cookienator. I wan it to reside within Program files (x86). When I go to program files and click New to extablish a Cookienator folder, all i get is New Folder and I can't rename it???

haven't tried your suggestion as I don't quite understand why it should work. All I want to do is change the name of the folder (new Folder) and it seems to me that there is no extension that it should be associated with???

This uses a protocal instead of file extension, the options mentioned above will restore the default associations for them and hopefully fix it for you. It will not hurt anything to apply them since they only restore the default associations thay should be that way.

You needed to use both of them. You would also need to use the Folder option as well for it to work.

Thought I deleted this thread...guess not. Anyway, to my embarrassment, I have found that there is nothing wrong with getting a new folder. It was my mistake that caused the problem. Soory to have put you guys through the trouble of going on a wild goose chase.

As previously stated, the problem was not a real problem and is an embarrassment that I goofed. Nothing to do with something not working, other than these old eyes. Anyway, first I placed a new folder where I wanted it. It said "New folder." Then I right clicked and selected Rename. New folder became highlighted and there was a blinking cursor. I then immediately started to type the new name and Enter, and there was "New folder" again. For some unknown reason (age related dementia?), I failed to recognize that before typing the new name, I had to first undo the highlighting....DUH!
