When I go to All Program, I cannot find Accessories in the list. I know it was between XPS Viewer and Corel Paint Shop, but it is not there anymore. Don't have a clue as to why it is gone. How do I get it back?

Can't Find It

Do you mean, Control Panel, Programs and Features, where you can change of uninstall programs? I do not see Windows Components, or Utilities, or Accessories. (I am running Windows 7 Professional.)

This is the path:

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Go there via "Run" and make a shortcut and you can access them.

OK, I am getting closer, I did what you suggested, but it still does not give me everything. Curiously, I found Accessories in All Programs under my wife's user name, and everything shows up there. When I followed your instructions, I have the Accessories shortcut on my desktop, but it had very little in it. There are two folders, one for System Tools, and another for Ease of Access. Within the Systems Tools folder, there is no Disk Cleanup or Defragmenter. The only things in there are computer, control panel, desktop, and private character editor. I don't see most of the stuff that shows up under Accessories under my wife's user name.

I just get the very abbreviated list that I described after the other suggestion. I still don't have the majority of what is in Accessories.

I would suggest building another administrative account then check to see if they show up under that account.

Hi try this and see if it helps, and if it doesn't, do as brady suggests, after you try this.

I am reluctant to build another administrator account. Even if it shows up there, it does me no better than if I access Accessories under my wife's user name, unless I am missing something.

To the last suggestion, I am not going to do a system restore and lose all the programs I have installed, which are many.

I don't know if this works for you. You may want to try this method. Go to "Control panel", select "Folder options". Under the view tab, check "Show hidden files, folders and drives" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now navigate your explorer to C:/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/StartMenu/Programs/Accessories. Is the folder there?

2 things. (1) the creation of the new admin account is a troubleshooting step that will tell us if it's profile based or OS based. (2) A proper system restore / repair will not remove or change any of the programs you've already installed.

System restore won't lose the programs you've installed. It will only restore the system settings and previous versions of files. ;)
