You said your using the VGA connect. Do you know what the TV's native res is?
I use a Sony Bravia, pc input, native res is 1360 X 768.
You might find that you will have to go into the TV's menu and make some choices.
I recently hooked up to new 52" Sony Bravias to this little itty bitty Zotac puter. One was VGA connect, one was HDMI connect. I first did the VGA, at first I could not get it to work, then I went into safe mode and got the proper Hertz and boom. Now, only 1/3 of screen was used.???? It was a res selected by the system as compatible?????? Went into TV's setting CHOSE the proper wide screen format and boom, 52"'s of 16:9 VGA. Now I cloned the TV with the HDMI TV. Same thing, had to go into TV's settings, select right thing and boom, 2 sony 52" being driven by same low end puter.
You will find that you need a VGA connect to get into bios as well. For some reason, HD signal does not allow you to see boot.
At one time I had 2 puters connected to my one Sony thru the various inputs. One puter was PC input, one was HDTV input with a crt connected to the VGA puter out.
I have trouble with HDTV inputs. Cloning can be problematical because system trys to match res's, vga and hdmi is pixels vs progressive scan. They do not playwell togather.
I realize that I'm not giving you an exact answer, but I'm just trying to relay my specific practical experience with my multiple monitor attemps.
Listing system specs would be helpful. Whats TV, whats vid card?
ps 1080p is not vga. Can your vid card do 1080p?
