Can't Get Excel 2003 To Show Gridlines

Most of the gridlines in an Excel 2003 file have disappeared. I went to Tools -> Options -> View and checked Gridlines. The color is set to automatic. But the gridlines are not visible. What else need I do to show the gridlines?

That's the right option. Try changing the Gridlines color to some specific color.

Didn't help changing colors. The cells that showed the gridlines before with "automatic" color now how them with the selected color. But the cells that didn't show them before still don't show them.

See if you can repair Office 2003 by following the steps in How to repair Office 2013, 2010, 2007 & 2003.

If that doesn't work you should consider reinstalling Office 2003.
