Can't get MS native usb drivers to work with Samson Go-Mic

I'm running win 7 x64, 4gb, athlon dual core. Samson Go-mic will not load driver to connect when i connect it to my usb port. Message is driver didn't load, but the device powers up and it's name shows up in devices. I contacted Samson and they assured me that they rely on the Windows "native USB drivers" and that the problem is with me. My OS is fully up to date fyi.

I'm at my wits end, i've been jacking around with the drivers to no avail, uninstalling, reinstalling, trying different generic ms drivers. Anyone have any ideas????

I find no mention of Samson in the MS update catalog data base for any product.

Wow, thanks for trying. Yeah, I don't understand. Btw, it attaches to vista and xp machines no prob, trouble is i don't have another windows 7 machine around test.

one other thought. this pavilion dv 6609wm was upgraded with a scratch 7 64 bit upgrade, not via an HP upgrade process. and hp isn't "supporting" windows 7 on it, so when i go in to try and find updates to drivers, i can't pick my operating system. btw, it's not that the machine can't handle win 7 64 - it does so quite adequately (not a racehorse, but it works for me). I'm at a loss and wonder how I can even check that my drivers/bios etc are up to date.

I know that's alot to ask about - i appreciate any advice you can give. I need the mic to finalize some video production i'm doing - or not doing, grrr. Agains, thanks for even trying, man.

If you find a driver to try for XP or Vista, remember to try it in Compatability Mode if it won't install by normal means.

I've subsequently found out from HP that I would need a bios upgrade for my particular machine - but they don't publish one. They told me my only choice is to downgrade back to vista 32 bit - not something i want to do. Any idea where I might be able to get the bios upgrade???

from google, it seems you should try ASIO4ALL - Universal ASIO Driver

EDIT: after reading more, it seems this mic should work in win7 x86 and x64 with just default drivers, the ASIO driver is really just to provide lower latency.... sorry.

thanks, i found this early on too but it doesn't replace the need for the native win 7 64 usb drivers. grrrrr - btw, you are bright light in a very dark world. thanks for your help!

another suggestion I see is to try a powered USB hub, that possibly the laptop USB ports arent supplying enough power for the mic?
