Currently I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray but the file size limitations and type exclusions make it very difficult to steam vids.

I am looking for a 2/4tb NAS/USB Storage solution along with a way to show the movies on my tv.

What are the best and most versatile choices out there?

Thanks

is your tv near your computer? - would a cable stretch between the two?

Newbie Here -- Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I have a Panasonic Blu-Ray that I would like to stream to. I can get it to stream from my wireless pc (boys745-pc) but not from my main pc (xps435). I have googled that crap out of this and have tried many fixes over the last week or so.

Here are my observations/questions/issues:

On the working wireless pc
  1. why is the network call beeps "2" -- instead of just the name of the network "beeps"
  2. Does the Map look right with the "?" in it
On the Main PC, wired and not working
  1. WMP12 streaming is turned on
  2. On the network map it show the router/hub at a computer "beeps" - is that ok?
  3. the homegroup advanced setting to stream is greyed out and I cannot change it.
  4. I go to change the advanced settings and save them but they wont save and they revert back.
  5. On the choose media steaming options, there are no devices.
Here are screen shots of the working wireless pc and the non working one

Please see the attachment for screen shots
thanks

Hi dcfOC,

What type of router do you have? You might consider a Dual Band N Router, this can operate on both the 2.4 and 5GHz radio bands simultaneusly, and double the available wireless bandwidth. For instance, you could set up your network to handle video streaming and use the lower band for other web activities (Instant messaging, Surfing, data uploading/downloading) avoiding any interference or collisions.

For the NAS, the Buffalo NAS is easy to configure. You may go for the diskless or HDD included. You might want to consider a NAS that supports RAID if you will doing heavy video streaming. A variety of options to be found here.
