I use a fingerprint reader to get onto my account. I swipe my finger and it lets me on. I also have a password on my account, but I haven't had to use it in a long time and I forgot what it was.

I was having a problem with Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable, so I performed a clean boot. I disabled all non-windows services in msconfig, and rebooted.

This disabled my fingerprint scanner, and since I forgot my password, I can't access my account.

So I need to either reset my password somehow, or reenable the service for my fingerprint scanner without getting on my account. There are no other accounts on my computer.

Please help, thanks

Have you tried booting into Safe mode and using System Restore to the date before you did this?

F8 -> Safe Mode. Wait for it to load. then Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Tools -> System Restore.

Booting in safe mode still requires a password, so I can't get on to use Restore?
I am burning a repair cd now. Would that work?

A repair CD should work. Or the Windows 7 install disk.
