I have a silly problem with my printer

It is Epson Stylus Photo R300, and recently I had to change an ink cartridge so that I could print out something properly. I put what I wanted on word, and pressed the keys to get it to print. According to the computer is was printing, but nothing was happening.

I have tried uninstalling the printer and Microsoft office, all to no avail.

All I get is that there is 1 document pending, but it never seems to get to printing

I have tried checking all the properties of the printer, but still no success.

On the document properties it says - Processor : winprint :confused::confused:

Tried to upload a pcture, but it said it was an invalid file

Try the easy way first. Turn off your computer, remove the printer cable from computer. Boot up, insert printer cable. See what happens. If that does not work, go to services and restart print spooler.

Can you try a system restore from a time prior to the problem? Also, check for updated drivers.

Can't do a system restore, because I had a good clear out.

Tried windows update for drivers and the epson site does not seem to have any for my printer, that I could find anyway.

I've heard that the Windows XP driver will work for your printer even though you are running Windows 7. Might as well try, right? Create a system restore point before trying just in case something goes wrong.

It has something to do with the ink cartridge. Try removing and reinstalling.

If you have any ink at all in the old cartridge, try reinstalling see it that one works, if so bring back cartridge for an exchange.

According to device manager my drivers are up to date and when it does print at alst, then the copy is fine, so it cannot be the cartridge.

According to this page -

Epson Driver Download

there is not a driver at all for my Stylus photo R300

I found that page, try the Windows XP or the x64 if you're using Windows 7 x64.

I think that I may have found the problem - went to printer properties, Advanced, on the bottom is a button called Print pprocessor, went to that anc saw that 'winprint' was highlighted. put it on epson Inkjet with raw data type and hey presto, i got a file printed straight away :D

One thing though, why would the default data type be RAW ?
