cant get w7 to work on asus 901 ssd

can anyone help please
i have a 901 running xp with 1.6ghz 1g ram and 4 & 8 g ssd

i want to stick w7 premium on
i managed to load a vlite compressed version via an external dvd drive

it boots up ok but after any command it says something like access denied

i think my vlite "technique" is not up to much

can anyone give me suggestions/advice and perhaps a good vlite file list

It's astonishing what mods and adaptations will enable on these little Asus EEEPC netbooks... I've had mine achieve stuff it wasn't ever designed for, albeit mine's a different model to the OP's... ;)

Did you check the link I gave the OP earlier? ;)

Using Vlite and a USB custom installer, the result is that W7 is indeed running on these machines... which just goes to show you can't take Microsofts spec's as being written in stone. Many EEEPC 'fanbois' have also upgraded their hardware from stock specifications too...

You'll get the help you need from the forums I linked you to, there just aren't the EEEPC gurus here that you'll find there! People laugh when I tell them I use a 1.6Ghz N270 Atom in a 10" portable netbook with seven or eight hours battery life...

I usually get the last laugh with my EEE though, especially when I'm flying or stuck in some train and the person next to me is squinting at a 2" square video screen on a Walkman and I can comfortably watch an HD movie on my screen... :p
