Solved Can't get Windows 7 installed from USB

The ISO is good. It boots up find it I burn it on a DVD and then install it from there. The uploader who uploaded it is legit and I have no problem whatsoever with his ISO's because the install.esd was always under 4 GB except this one.

So any ideas?

Wait... I thought windows 7 didn't support an esd file for the operating system images...? So you would need to grab a windows 8.1/10 boot wim of the respected architecture version and use their setup to install from a windows 7 install.esd file instead?

Will the updates be available after the 14th January, or will Microsoft be shutting those servers down? I've read conflicting reports on this and am a bit confused. Should I make a backup DVD (or something) with all of the updates until the 14th and use this into the future?

There seems to be a week til Windows 7 is officially over (support wise) and I'm trying to figure out the best way to proceed going forwards into the future.

Actually yes, some of the updates will have dead links(or are superseded/corrupted) and you would have to go look for them elsewhere(and they may or may not still be in Microsoft's update catalogue and for those that aren't you will need to download from a third party....and hope the third party download isn't infested with viruses and malware...but do check for Microsoft's digital signature and hashes and if they're both good then the chances for the update file infested with a virus or malware is impossible even from a dodgy looking third party website). For example if following this guide using WUD to download the update files using their provided update lists and then using NTLite to integrate/slipstream them.

Hal9000 doesn't seem to be interested in updating the guide unless there's enough "interest" in it to do so, so if one person reports dead links or other issues, he won't fix, but if many report the same dead links or other issues, he will fix.

You can add drivers and updates to the Win 7 install.wim and it can become bigger than 4G and won't copy to a FAT32 partition (required to boot as UEFI).
In this case you split install.wim into smaller Install.swm (not install.esd).

Don't use WU to install Windows Updates. Use Single file with all updates - Simplix
