Solved Can't initialize drive

Just built new pc. My os is on an ssd. Win 7 home. I also have a 1 tb mech drive. When initializing the mech drive I canceled the process. Dummy. Now I am unable to initialize. The drive is listed in the device mgr. It is shown under manage drives but nothing telling me that the drive needs to be initialized. When I rt click on the drive initializing is not shown as an option.I tried shutting down, unpluging the sata cable from the drive, Restarting. The mech drive was no longer shown. I then shut down, reconnected the drive and restarted. The drive is back but I am not told that I need to initialize. Rt click on the drive in manage does not give me the option. I am wondering if I have to start from scratch as far as the os is concerned?

I assume you have no apparent problems with the SSD and the OS?

Does the mechanical drive show up in Windows Disk Management?

If it does, post a screenshot of what you see there.

No need for that.

Run the CLEAN command from the Diskpart utility to reset the file table (Clean All is not necessary).

When it's done restart the computer and you should be ready to initialize the disk.
Be careful not to clean the wrong disk!
