cant install new 1333 2gb pc3 -10600 cl9 240-pin dimm on my ax5810

i put the new ram i brought on the slot i used to put my old 2 gb ram and it give a long beep sound. but after i put back the old 2gb ram in the same slot it's start perfectly. anyone help pls thanks

Does your motherboard support the new RAM?

If your motherboard supports it, it may be a bad stick.

You would have to check with the specs of your motherboard. You mention an Acer, which is a brand of computer, not motherboard. If it is an Acer computer, you can go to Crucial.com and use their tool to look up your computer and see what kind of memory your computer can take, and how much in each slot.

Based on specs alone, it should work. So, a few things come to mind:

1. You didn't have the new memory chip snapped in properly.

2. The new memory could require more voltage than your motherboard is giving the slots.

3. The memory chip is damaged.

Most systems require an upgrade conformation by pressing the F1 button

From what you have just said, it sounds to me like you have 1stick of Desktop Ram and another stick of Laptop ram.

ram slots are very specific. They normally only take 1 kind of ram. If you have 2 sticks of differing sizes, one is wrong. Look on the side of the stick that works. There should be a paper tag on it with the type of ram, the timings and voltage. look at the slot in the ram and the corresponding notch in the dimm slot. When they are matched up, do the edges fit into the slots all the way to the end of the dimm slot? It should fit exactly.
