OK, here's the scoop.

I have Win7 x64 Ultimate.

Loaded numerous x64 apps including Office 2010 x64...
...but had to uninstall Office x64 in order to load another app that requires Office 2010 x86.

Uninstall of Office 2010 x64 seemed OK but on reinstallation (using Office 2010 x86) it refuses to load on an x64 system.

How can I get x86 to install? Can't find a WOW64 key in the registry.

Regards,
GEWB

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the message is:

You cannot install the 32-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 64-bit Office products installed. These 64-bit products are not supported with 32-bit installations...

So it sounds like if I have some 64-bit programs installed, I can't install Office 32-bit, even if I don't want to "integrate" all of the programs. I was hoping to find a work around rather than uninstalling numerous 64-bit program and reinstalling them (I hate licensing issues).

Why not just ditch the x64 version altogether? It isn't really meant for everyday, everyone usage, per Microsoft themselves. I use Office 2010 x86, and I'm not missing out on anything.

Thanks for your reply. If there is no work around to this issue I will have to uninstall/reinstall the other software packages and lose anything already done (Project Professional, Visio and SharePoint Designer).

I use the 64-bit OS and associated software, not just Office, as I do some development and beta testing (so I need 64-bit most of the time).

I do have several other Win7 32-bit installations but they are not dedicated to the software project I'm currently working on.

Well, I decided to uninstall all kinds of apps and reinstall - not worth bigger hassle trying to find all the "stuff" Microsoft Office uninstaller left behind. At least Microsoft doesn't have the WORST installer/uninstaller - Adobe has them beat as being the worst.
