When I try to install RC, I get the message
This computer is not compliant with the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) standard. Windows must be installed onto a computer that supports ACPI.

However this is a relatively new computer whcih is ACPI compliant, at least according to the BIOS screens. What am I missing? When I run the Win 7 compatibility test it says that my machine is ok.

Maybe a setting in bios is checked. try booting into bios and looking around

Ken - already did that and nothing obvious. I have ACPI function enabled, ACPI suspend S1&S3, C2 disabled.

I have seen this issue before. Turned out to be related to the video card. However, this was on an Xp machine.

This link is for Vista, but you may want to check it out as well

The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant.

Is your BIOS up to date?

Hope this helps

Scott

Machine is only 1 year old and originally came with Vista installed (I downgraded to XP), so it's Vista compatible.

Look for a BIOS update, what MB or computer model do you have?

I understand that, however the same fix may work with windows 7, just a suggestion.

However, I would see what upgrading the BIOS does for you.

Hope this helps

Ah, I figured that, since I couldnt find an AM3100. Might want to adjust your system specs.

Why not try the link for the same problem in vista i gave you. Couldn't hurt.

Hope this helps

If it happens to be a video card issue...use another video card instead (one less powerful than yours) or if you have onboard graphics than use that
