Trying to check out Win 10...but don't have icon in taskbar. I understand you need various win updates for the icon to appear...but I can not find nor figure out how to install update 3035583. Have 2952664 installed.
Can anyone tell me how to manually (or other) install this update so I can continue with the Win 10 investigation ?
Running licensed Win 7 Pro 64 bit version of win 7
Thanks....TiminAz

Thanks as always Noel...this is a personal PC with a valid personal license....I was able to find an answer by general searching the net and Windows web site.
They required 'updates' that I needed were not on my PC...but somewhere else I read where you must have IE installed for icon to appear...
I have IE installed but only the original basic version 8...gave up on IE after multiple issues/problems with LastPass about a year ago...removed all subsequent IE updates/upgrades...and was not allowing any additional IE 8 updates.
Apparently...I needed one of the updates after the original IE setup in order to get 2 required IE 8 updates for the icon to appear.
But...it still wouldn't appear after the IE 8 updates were installed ?
Found a Windows help page for a work around if the Win 10 icon still would not appear...updates and all...
This created a cmd file which when run in command prompt window solved the issue. Upgrade Window icon still did not appear instantly but was there after a reboot.
Maybe this will help others that can't get the upgrade icon to appear in task bar ...??
Thanks...TiminAz
