Hi there people :) Since aprox. one month i can't get to install Windows 7 updates (Ultimate x64). There is an error "updates were not configured correctly" and then it goes to the start. I don't know what is it... I'm putting a screen down here:

Also, on a sidenote: I've noticed a few days ago, that some programs that requieres when i open them via doble click, to say yes to the "administrator rights" (the caution box) no longer needs it. I don't know what make that change.

Greetings!

Have you scanned with your Antivirus/AntiMalware program lately? To make sure nothing screwy is going on, update those programs, restart > boot into Safe Mode > scan with AV, then AM programs. See what comes up.

Hello Marian and welcome to Seven Forums. A couple of things you can try to fix this issue.

See if you have any damaged or corrupt system files that might prevent the updates from installing. Run a system file checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If problems are found, run the scan 3 times and reboot your computer after each scan.

Try doing a manual install of the updates rather than letting Windows 7 do an automatic installation. Install just a few at a time and reboot your computer to make sure there aren't any problems. Install the next group, reboot, check your computer. If your computer experiences any problems you'll know exactly which group of updates is causing the problem. Uninstall that group and then install the updates one at a time, rebooting after each update is installed. They'll either all install OK and you can move on to the next group, or you'll know which specific update is the problem. Just leave it for last and move on to the next group. It's a slower installation process but usually results in a better install experience.

If you're still having problems installing those updates you could try running the Microsoft Fixit tool. And if that doesn't help there's another Microsoft utility called the System Update Readiness Tool.

You cannot install some updates or programs

System Update Readiness Tool fixes Windows Update errors in Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, and Windows Server 2008

Please post back if anything helps or not.

Hello marsmimar and thanks, i just did a "group installation" of the updates, 4-5 each time, starting from the newest to oldest, and walla :) Those 20 now are installed.

Also, system file checker was fine.

Still i don't know why my User Account Control level went from "Default" to "Never notify me" all of a sudden :S.

Anyways, thanks and good luck!

Sometimes one computer problem leads to another which leads to even more. I think computers were designed that way so we can all get gray hair. :(

But it's really great news that the system file checker scan was fine and you were able to install those updates. Thanks for posting back!
