Can't install Win7(Partially Solved), New BSOD Prob.

Hi peeps,

I'm in dire need of help

Been having this problem for days now sadly:cry:

I'm trying to install win7 and it won't finish up the "windows is loading files". It stops eventually no matter what progress.

One time though is that it gives me that the "BOOTMGR" is missing.

Take note that this is a fresh install, the hddsk has no other OS. How can I fix this?

Below are my system specs:

Phenom II 550BE
J&W Minix 780G
4gb sodimm team elite ram
1tb westen digital
dvd-rw

any thoughts?

Where did you get the image (dvd) and how did you burn it (at what speed)?

Direct from (Microsoft)windows7 site, 7100 Build.

Burn speed was lowest 4x.

Cheers,

ps: tried again w/o the harddisk and only the dvd-rom running.

still giving me the BOOGMGR error. Does that mean my copy is corrupted? or is it my harddisk.

Do try making a new dvd, I had a similar problem and that solved it for me.

Also verify the md5 checksums to make sure that the file didn't get corrupt during download

@shubhangam

hmm I had several copies of win7 with 7100 builds(estimates would be 5-6 now), still no go. Can you really really(sorry to be buggy) confirm that this has something to do with my win7 copy?

Cheers,

PS: how to verify the md5 checksums?

The same thing happened to me, and I got my copy from MS as well. I ended up downloading it again, but using active ISO burner Active@ ISO Burner - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com and that worked for me. The first time I had used magic iso to do it. One thing to also try, when you get the drive selection page, click advanced, and then delete the partition, the re-create it, before moving on to begin the installation.

I am also running a quasar gamatron flux capacitor with twin pulse tronic phasers......jk, I have no such stuff.
I was using nero as my burner.

Yeah, I tried deleting the partition and recreating the drive, no dice.

I tried win xp and it booted fine. Must be really my copy. Will try to reburn/redownload the ISO.

Anymore tips you might suggest?

I am sure that is all you need to do. But try the active iso burner when you get the new copy.

As I'm downloading the new image, I'll use the active iso burner on my previus copy of vista/7/xp. I'm gonna test all of them.

Suggested speed would be 4x right?

PS: how to make sure that the copy I downloaded is not corrupted or damaged?

Just leave the active iso as is, and let it burn at the default speed (at least I did it that way).

Sounds like an issue with your burner...or you bought some DVDs and that stack of DVDs has alot of bad ones (not a too uncommon problem here)...have you tried acquring another build besides the RC and see if the issue persists?

SATA Dvd - Windws XP SP3 =

IDE Dvd - Windows 7 7100 Build =

Have you got a DVD lense cleaner? It could be that there is dust on the laser causing a burn issue.
