Hi,

I am trying to install SP1 on a 32-bit Windows 7 pc, but it keeps failing to install. It says to run the SURT tool, I did that but it still doesnt install after doing so. Any thoughts/suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Pauly/Layback Bear,

I read the Windows Update Posting Instructions and have done the following.....

1. Ran SURT 3 times
2. Ran SFC /SCANNOW without any issues
3. There are no error codes when the install fails, I have attached a screenshot
4. I have attached the zip file for the CBS folder

Thank you for taking the time to try to resolve my issue.

Thanks,
Kevin

What do you mean your work computer ?

If it`s owned by the company then take it to the IT department or ask your manager about fixing it.

Hi Layback Bear,

Your question was "How did you come by Windows 7 enterprise?" I answered it was my work pc, thats the version of Windows that it came with.

AddRam - I work in the IT Dept. I am new to the field and I try to figure everything out on my own. When I cant, I post on here to seek assistance from the experts in the field.

Thanks,
Kevin

Then I would just re image it, don`t waste time trying to figure out why it won`t update.

Your image should already have SP1 on it :)

:ditto:

I recommend getting with others in your I.T. department before making any changes. Their is a good chances that making changes without the assistance of other I.T. department members is got you into this problem.

The CBS log shows that the attempt to install SP1 is being halted by a mass of 'file not found' errors.
Both SFC and CheckSUR logs are clear.

I suspect that either a repair install or a clean install will be required :(
I would support the idea of consulting with the others in the IT department, since there is likely to be no way to recover the Key from the existing install.

Hi NoelDP,

I already tried a repair but had no luck. I was hoping to avoid a clean install but it looks like that is my best option. I appreciate your assistance.

Thanks,
Kevin
