At first I had this issue:
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/249827-getting-bsod-cant-logon.html

After that had been solved and I saved my files, I installed Ubuntu on the computer, it installed successfully and is working, I had made a DVD of Windows 7 SP1 which I downloaded the home premium x64 version from here
Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life
I had burned the image to an 8GB DVD using ImgBurn

Once I had burned that, I booted the computer from the DVD, and the Windows 7 install windows screen showed up, asking for three things, Language, Time and currency, and Keyboard or input method, after I filled that out, English, English (Canada), US, I then clicked next, there was no other option, it then gave me three options, What to know before installing Windows, Repair your computer, and Install Now, I clicked Install now, then the Setup is starting loading page came up, then a

Load Driver box came up saying:
A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert now.
Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step

It gave me three options, browse, OK, and Cancel, I clicked OK, then another Load Driver box came up saying:
No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.

After constantly clicking OK, the Select the Driver to be installed screen gave me 2 options, to either browse or Rescan, everytime I rescanned I got the same No device drivers box come up

It also won't load when I try opening it when logged onto Ubuntu, I don't think it recognizes it

Specs:
Acer Aspire 5253-BZ848
Originally had Windows 7 Home premium 64bit installed, now has Ubuntu 12 installed

Any help would be highly appreciated
Thanks

Hi,

Do you mean the screen capture image under Step 7?

In your BIOS, are you using AHCI or IDE SATA modes?

No, the image under 6, the I accept the license terms box, that never comes up, it goes straight from the install now screen to the load devices screen

IDE modes I believe
In the boot manager screen I have
1. IDE 1: HL-DT-STDVDRAM GT32N
2. IDE 0: Hitachi HTS545032B9A300
3. Network Boot: Atheros Boot Agent

Sorry, not too good with computers, will try my best to answer any questions

Hi,

OK, lets try this. When you first boot, at the languages screen, press CTRL+F10.

Now type the following in the command windows that was opened, hitting enter after each command:

diskpart
list disk

What is displayed after the last command? You have all your data and other files backed up off this disk right?

Golden

Ok, I had to click repair computer and open up Command prompt from there, since Ctrl + F10 wasn't working on the languages screen, and I entered those 2 words, a sort of chart came up:
Disk ### Status Size Free Dyn Gpt
Disk 0 Online 298 GB 0B
Disk 1 No media 0B 0B

And yes, I saved everything I needed before I installed Ubuntu 12
Thanks

Hi,

OK...and I was wrong, it should have been SHIFT+F10, my mistake, sorry about that.

I think the best thing is to wipe the disk first before installing. Go back to the command windows using SHIFT+F10. The do the following, hitting enter after each command:

diskpart
select disk 0
clean

After the clean has been completed, type exit to close diskpart, and then exit to close the command window. Now try install as normal.

Golden

Mmmm. I'm missing something.

Its not the HDD as Ubuntu was installed to it. Can you try and burn the Windows 7 ISO to another DVD, but this time burn at 4x speed? I don't think thats the issue, but it would help to tick that off the list.
