Can't install Word from disk

I'm recounting to you all a problem that is without a doubt the most bizarre event I have experienced in years of computing. I have had the MS Word 2010 operating disk and have been running it for years, using it on 64bit. years.
I used Word the other day and the next day it disappeared from prog files. The Snipping Tool isn't working for jpeg's so I'm attaching the screen shots as pdf's.
For three days, I've been on the phone with Microsoft help center; they're working diligently for a fix. Since we can't exist without word processing, I've installed Apache open office word processing and OpenOffice also, but there's a learning curve, so I'm putting them off while I seek a solution to Word.
This is such a shock, to have the program one day and next, it's gone and can't even install it. I'm using Wordpad. Bummer. As always, you have my sincere gratitude for any ideas or advise you can give me. ec

It sounds like you might have more that just a Word or Office problem, as you have said that the snipping tool wont work & that is part of Windows 7.

What anti virus program do you use & have you checked for a malware infection.

Have you tried running System File Check to see if there are possible HDD problems. To do this follow this tutorial.

Presumably you have tried an Office Repair. Do other Office programs like Excel work or is the whole Office installation corrupted.

If you can find Microsoft Office in the control panel under add/remove programs, you can try running repair.

Thanks ever so much for your response to my crazy problem. I can report that Microsoft support has installed Office 2016 Professional on my machine, at no charge, to make up for the all the Word problems I've been having. If Mr. Gates is reading this, please know that I extend a thousand thanks for this fantastic gesture. ec
