Cant make password protected sharing

Hi

I have an "server" with windows 7 ultimate running.
Here I have earlier shared the whole hard disks and no protection everyone on the network could access them.

But now I would like to share folders to specified people\computers.

iv'e made user accounts on the computer and chosen to share only with them.
But the problem then is that I cant access the server anymore, and I don't get an option to log in to the server, only an error message that I don't have permission.

The computers are part of an network run by an sbs 2011 with an domain.

I've googled and searched but cant find any solution to my problem, with no log in over the network.
When i find the server on an other computer and try to open it I only get an error message.

If I than share an folder with everyone alowed to se it, I can connect to the computer and see the shared folders, but cant acsess the ones with password only the one without and I still don't get an option to log in.

Hope somone has an idea i've feel like i tried everything, with advanced sharing ans local permisions.

Hi ITW, Welcome to Seven Forums.
In my mind, trying to setup password protected sharing with various people is not only complicated to do but a waste of time and energy. If you want to share certain files with John Doe, put the files in a folder called John Doe, use 7Zip to password protect it and give J D the password. Repeat for all others.

As Iv'e googeld it's pretty easy, just make users for everyone on the computer and share folders to that user.
When an computer is new you get the login if you try to open the computer under network, that is what i'm missing now, and Im guessing it's because I've shear the whole harddisk earlier.

And now I cant get it back.

We are about 5 people and not everyone is suppose to have access to everything.

Still can't make the password protected sharing.
The plan with the folders that I am sharing are that the users can update them as well as we go.

Anyone got any idea what to try?
We are on an domain btw.
