I have 3 desktop computers and one printer on my wired network. 2 are Win XP, and this one is Win 7 Ultimate. When I marked certain files in each one for sharing, surprisingly, the network set itself up immediately, calling itself "Homegroup." I'm accustomed in XP to naming my network, but I don't have this page in the tutorial asking me for a name. I tried all the links. Is a unique name still necessary in Win 7?

OK, found the right links, and I've renamed the network my old name "RSNETWORK," but when I click on it, there's a message that I'm (this Win7 comp) not connected to it. I'm really confused. I've already followed the tutorial and listed my network as "work" rather than "home." Is there a difference between a homegroup and a network?

The Verizon techie was here today to fix my ONT, and he turned off my network temporarily. I don't know if that's relevant.

Just found the thread about specs.
I'm on a wired network, ISP Verizon FIOS, Actiontec modem/router
Win7 computer-- BitDefender AV, Windows Firewall
On the XP computer--BitDefender AV, Comodo Firewall

Right-clicking "cmd" does not produce "Run as Administrator."
I have no idea what this is: "Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface." I have no hardware with that name.
