Hi,
I use Windows 7 professional version, MS Outlook 2003, and have as my default browser Mozilla Firefox version 11.0.

When I try and open any link in my email, I get an error message which says, " This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator".

I am the system administrator!

I've been using Windows 7 now for about 2 months and I thought that the links in my emails opened before, but I honestly can't remember.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,

George

Hi George, Welcome to Seven Forums.

What happens if you run MS OL 2003 as administrator?

Thanks for the thought, but that doesn't work either.

Hi George, try this
With FF closed type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ in the start menu search box, click the item that appears and delete localstore.rdf FF will replace it on starting.

If that fails you can try MS fix. That fix will make IE default browser afterwards, but you can change it manually in FF ([Tools/Options] - Options - Advanced - General - Check now).

also setting IE as the default browser and then resetting ff as default ought to do it , without running a fix, or tampering with registry settings.
