Can't open minimized windows on desktop

Whenever I hover over an application to reopen it, the preview flickers and disappears and I am unable to reopen it unless I click on Cascade Windows or one of those other options. Any ideas?

Hello Danny,

You might check to see if the window may be offscreen. If so, then you could drag it back onscreen.

I'm on dual monitors and I am attempting to reopen windows on the main display, where the taskbar is located.

Did you check to see if the windows were offscreen?

The windows are not offscreen. After minimizing them, they will not reopen without choosing Cascade Windows, Show Windows Stacked or Side By Side because the taskbar preview flashes.

Ok. If this only started recently, then you could see if doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this started may be able to help.
