Solved Can't Open the Computer Icon

When I go to my start button in Windows 7, on the far right of my start menu, I have a roster of main computer items. Mine read; Library(named), Documents, Pictures, Music, Games, Computer, Control Panel, Devices and Printers, Default Programs, Help and Support. I can open anyone of these in a window by double clicking the icon....except the 'Computer' icon. I have 'Computer' on my desktop too along with the Recycle Bin. I can't open 'Computer' from here either? It goes nowhere when I click on it. What may be the reason for it not opening? Thanks!

(I have my openings set-up with a double-click instead of single click.)

Can you remove the icon from the desktop and restart your PC and add it back ?

:ar: Right-click on the desktop and choose Personalize, then click on “Change Desktop Icons” on the left-hand side of the screen.

:ar: In the Desktop Icons panel you can choose which of the built-in icons to show on the desktop:

For the Computer in the Start Menu

Right-click the Windows taskbar and choose Properties.

The Taskbar and Start Menu Properties dialog box opens.

:ar: Click the Customize button on the Start tab.

A dialog box opens showing all the different ways you can customize the Start menu.

:ar: Select the Don't display this item under Computer options in the Start menu. Restart the PC and then go back in the start menu options and choose Display as a link .

Thanks, I wanted to restart it before I removed the icon on desktop. Just restarting cleared up the problem! I can double click both desktop computer icon and start menu computer icon. Going to let it ride for now. If I have additional trouble, I will follow your instructions. Must have been a hic-up of some sort. Thank you!
