I am trying to remote into my HTPC (Windows 7 Pro) from my laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium).
On the HTPC I have set it up so that it can allow for remote access. Under System Properties\Remote Access I chose the third option "Allow connections only from computers running remote Desktop with Network level Authentication."
When I go back to my laptop I:
- click on Remote Connection
- enter the name of the HTPC I want remote into
- I am prompted for the computer name of the HTPC I want to remote into. I have checked to see if this is correct by using the same name I see when I go into My Network
- I enter it and then click Connect
- I am prompted for my credentials. My username for my laptop is already there and it is waiting for my password. When I enter my laptop password (i.e. password I use to login to my laptop at Start-up) I am informed that my credentials did not work.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
