Hello,

I'm not 100% sure that this is the right place to post this but I guess it's a problem involving the OS software.

I can't remove my two windows.old folders. Even though everything inside the folder is deleted.
I've tried doing it through the cmd prompt but it still doesn't want to dissapear. Anyone knows how to remove it?

Thanks in Advance,
Joachim

Thank you :)

Sadly, nothing of that worked. I've also tried the 2nd option in that tutorial before (also tried it again just now). It says that the file cannot be found, even in the booted CMD prompt.

Possibly corruption since you didn't do a Clean Install if you have a windows.old folder. An install should always be from a booted installer deleting all partitions to create new. This clears the partition table which can provide interference later in some cases.

Look over these same steps that assure a perfect http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164.

If you can't delete windows.old with CCleaner and after http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1911-take-ownership-shortcut.html then I'd check System files to see what else may be corrupt: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

Isn't take ownership basicly like "Run as admin"? Well i did the SFC and all is okey according to the scan.
Do you think I should reformat my computer again but follow the steps in the clean reinstall guide?
