Don't know why. I get to log on screen and all's well. Then just a lot of black after logging in, the bar on the bottom with the time and... that's it! I had to power off improperly and then start in safe mode w networking to downloaded a tool to collect information after reading up how to submit here. I'm sorry but I really don't understand it at all. Any help will be appreciated.

Click on the start button. Type .... msconfig in the search bar and hit enter. It will open the system configuration window, with the "general" tab selected.
Click the "startup" tab. Click "Disable all" > Apply > OK.

Hi. That's a good idea. But I restored the computer to a time before from safe mode and it now boots normally. But I will try this first if it happens. Is there any value in doing it now?

Thanks. I didn't know which section to post it in. Where would have been best to post it? Please let me know and I'll mark it solved and open a new thread in a better place if it recurs.
