I've noted many queries about problems with Flash Player. I keep uninstalled and trying to reinstall. Cont Panel/Programs shows it in my system. But I can't locate it anywhere to try to run it. I ran a sfc /scannow. Attached are the results.

Could corrupt files be responsible for not being able to use Flash Player? Please help me access and work the above, if you think it is related to the Flash problem. I started having this problem about a month ago. It's frustrating because many sites require Flash. I appreciate any help you can give. ellenc

What browser are you using? It might be the browser. Firefox, for example, disables flash automatically, unless you specifically tell it to use it.

As for the SFC /SCANNOW problem, if something is that corrupted, you might be looking at a repair install. But there are forum members more knowledgeable than I that might be able to give better advice.

What I usually do is clean install flash player every time an update is available.

Suggest: Run the flash player removal tool:

https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

Follow all steps 1- 4 (including step 4.1 that most people seem to skip)

Once rebooted check again that these files/ folders have been deleted and delete them if they still exist:

C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player

Copy and paste each line above into Explorer address bar or Start> Run dialog box.

Once you are sure that they have been removed:

Download flash player from here:

Adobe Flash Player Distribution | Adobe

Then install it.

Hmm. No more direct downloads of flash player after Jan 22nd 2016. I suppose that means paying extra attention when installing the versions that come bundled with extras if you do not untick various boxes!
