If I try to grab text in a website window and move the mouse down while keeping the mouse Left button depress, the window will not scroll upward. I have to manually press the down arrow key to continue my text grab or selection. Can this be reversed?

Thanks Roderunner for your response, but I was only trying to capture a small section of the text. Using the Edit-Select All, captures the whole page including photos. I am only interested in a certain amount of text only. Because I am using Firefox 8.0, I am not sure or can't remember having this problem with earlier versions of Firefox.

gilloz,

it can be frustrating trying to copy the text you want especially if its not all visible on the full page.
Try copying what you can see, paste into notepad, scroll the page and repeat till you get all you want.

Why not shift click. Just click at the start of the text you want, then scroll down to the end of the text you want to copy, press shift key and left click and you will have the text you want.

OK BrightBlessings. That worked fine and probably will have to do for now. This will be my workaround until I can find out why it doesn't work as it has in the past. Something is not right and I will attempt to find out why one way or another. Thanks for that. Thanks also Roderunner for responding also.

OK Brightblessings. I found the problem. It was easy. I just reinstalled Firefox over the existing copy. Now it works as advertised. Thanks again.

By the way, here's another work-around for those with the same problem:

Starting at the bottom of the text to be copied, highlight text and scroll upward as far as you can. If/when screen stops scrolling, while text is still highlighted, keep the left-mouse button depressed and then, bump the top of the screen with the cursor several times to manually force the screen to keep scrolling. You may have to do this several times, but it usually works after a few cursor bumps.
