Can't see computer on Home Network

Here is my setup:

Modem -> Router -> 3 computers

Computer 1: Connected via Wire, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Computer 2: Connected via Wire, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Computer 3: Connected Wirelessly, Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

This is where it gets horrendously annoying:

Computer 1 sees Computer 2 and 3 just fine. Can browse the folders they have shared, etc.

Computer 3 sees Computer 1 and 2 just fine. Can browse the folders they have shared, etc.

Computer 2 sees Computer 1 just fine. Computer seems to be somewhat aware of Computer 3 (it sees it as a media device for viewing pictures/video/whatever) but it does not see it under the Computer list in Network. In other words, it can't navigate to it and browse its folders.

I've messed with everything on Computer 3 I could possibly think of. There was never at any point an option to select who had access to what, specifically. I simply told it to give full permissions to "EVERYONE" which I would assume is everyone on the network.

Firewall is off on all three computers.

Sharing and discovery is on on all three computers.
File and Printer sharing is on on all three computers.
Public folder sharing is on on all three computers.

It can't be a "64-bit and 32-bit can't talk" issue since Computer 1 sees and is seen by Computer 3 just fine.

It can't be a "wireless and wired can't talk" issue since Computer 1 sees and is seen by Computer 3 just fine.

At my wits end and hoping there is a simple solution.

Do all three computers have the same security software installed on them?

I do not have any security software on any of them. (Nor do I want to)

What is the make/model of #2 and #3, and do they have the exact same software installed on them? What happens if you boot into safe mode with networking on #2? Has this always been a problem, or did it just recently start?

Are you using DHCP or static private ip's? If its static ones you need to make sure all the computers are in the same range as well as the same subnet mask. So if E.g. Computer 1 is 192.168.1.x (say) and subnet 255.255.255.0, then the other computers would need to be 192.168.1.y, 192.168.1.z and so on, similarly in each case the subnet would be 255.255.255.0.

With a small no. of computers, I always prefer setting ip's manually, easier to manage and debug.

Yes they're all in the same IP range.

Make/model? I used EVGA for two of the motherboards. Asus for another one. One's a Q6600, the other is i7930 and the other is i7950

comp 3 is using 2 gigs of ram. comp 1 6 gigs, comp2 4 gigs.

uhm.. i have a 470 gtx in comp 1, some 5800 radeon or something in comp 2 and comp 3 has 8800 ultra.


This has to be some simple setting that needs to be flipped in windows.

But I've tried everything.

The bottom line is that every computer can see every other computer except for comp 2 seeing comp 3. and in that case, it still sees it cuz in Network, it sees it in the "Media Devices" group but not the "Computer" group.

All 3 have files/printer sharing, network discovery on, etc. all of them have identical settings in network and sharing.



And this is an ongoing problem. A couple months ago when I had these all on a network together at a different location, the same computer couldn't see the same computer.

Have you booted into safe mode with networking? You haven't mentioned it.
